ACER 7741 reinstall problem

Ok i have a new 7741 and burned and verified the disks then shrunk the ntfs partition by about 100 gigs using Gparted and somehow my boot sector was affected and the re-install disks are hanging up mostly the first buthave gotten as far as 3rd before it hung any help would be  appreciated. TIA

Have you run a hard drive test? I am not sure if you have done a format but you can try to run the recovery console that come with the computer. normally when the computer is booting hit F10.

I believe that should be Alt F10
