m17x Driver & Performance Issues

I am not very good with drivers and knowing what I should download and use.. Just to start out.

 

My specs of my laptop are:

 

Q9300 @2.53ghz

4G

Windows home x64

ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4870x2

Bios Version : A04

 

 

Basically, I can see other people with the same setup as mine able to play Crysis 2 and other games maxed without any noticeable lag at all. I even started to get crazy lag in Minecraft / all java games. So I'm thinking I have some bad drivers, my warranty ran out and I'm not going to pay $50 just for them to tell me whats wrong or what I should do(they would just tell me to reformat i would think.)

 

I'm currently using the latest drivers from dell/AW from using my service tag. I have all the latest drivers from there as-well, just I don't think I'm receiving the performance I should be getting.

 

Basically what are the most stable drivers that most people have success with? Or am I doing something totally wrong?

Which display drivers are you currently using? (version?)

Edit: oh i see.

Yeh go to Amd and update. See if you see a performance increase.
