M6809 stock/overclocked 3DMark01/03 results... - Page 3

I was only able to get a 3D Mark03 score of 1289 on my M6809. The graphics on a lot of games are also distorted. I am running plugged in with the Omega drivers(not overclocked) and DX9.0c.

Is there something wrong with my computer or is it just a software problem?

What clock speed are you running the GPU at? I know you said you didn't overclock it, but have you looked to make sure it is 300/200 (+/-) like it is supposed to be?
My clock speed was set about 300/200 I also had DX9.0c and the latest Omega drivers installed. I formated my drive and reinstalled Windows. With the stock drivers I was able to score 9144 on 3D Mark 2001. which is about what I have seen other people score.
but on 3D Mark 2003 I scored 1851. Better but still about 600 behind other scores I have seen. Also a lot of my newer games the grapics are messed up. like this:

have you tried other games?

TEEGUNN states:
"This rig really doesn't need an OC to game well anyway"

SO WHY DO IT ?

Because a 15%+ gain in framerates when you are on the edge with quality setting makes all the difference in the world.

You could also buy an external usb 2.5 hd enclosure and use it to image or backup your files or just as extra portable storage.

Here are some benchmarks AFTER SP2, Omega installed, and OC video 425/220. Pretty good improvement for minor tweaks LOL.

Using the Omega Radeon 2.5.90 and ATI Tool 0.22 (which REALLY doesn't like Omega's implementation of Temporal Anti-Aliasing), I got up to 425 core/220 mem from 300 core/200 mem. I KNOW that with 'stock' Radeon drivers, which are sadly out of date from Emachines (ATI doesn't update their reference mobile drivers) those numbers would be more like 450/230. I have seen on here as high as 486/229 (gotta be cooking!).

Stock speed benched with 3DMark 01 : 9,457
OC(425/220) speed benched with 3DMark 01 : 11,744

Stock speed benched with 3DMark 03 : 2,496
OC(425/220) speed benched with 3DMark 03 : 3,162

Stock speed benched with PCMark 04 : 3,446
OC(425/220) speed benched with PCMark 04 : 3,888

That is a low OC, no stability or tearing problems. Havent OC'ed the CPU yet, and probably won't. It's a lot more risky and complicated LOL.

The only real hardware difference between mine and Zero's above...is the CPU OC. That made about a 44 point difference on 3DMark03. Well that and RealTek 5.10.0.5720

I'd like to know guys in your opinion how high you'd recommend I go with the clocks to keep a nice ballance between performance and temperature. I do not want the fan to kick in every 5 minutes when all I do is websurfing etc.
fishbone, you can set specific clocks for every application using radlinker which is included in OMEGA 4.9(don't use 4,10). So you can let the normal clocks in any application except games. Create custom settings for UT2k4 for example with the clocks at 350/220, and look for artefacts. The clocks will be reverted to the default when you exit UT2k4.
Good luck,

I'm running a clean install of XP Pro, GPU overclocked to 445/227, and I got 12,167 in 3dMark2001se. Not bad at all. My desktop is in the 13k range and I'm happy with its performance.
