Can't seem to find much about this Acer laptop...

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834215037&Tpk=n970

Basically...

Acer Aspire AS5552G-7641

AMD Quad-Core N970

ATI Radeon HD 6650M

15.6"

$600 (I'm actually getting it somewhere else for that price, but NewEgg lists the entire specs, which the other place does not)

Good deal? I'm looking for something that can play games on the cheap. This seems capable of that, but is it the best I can get for $600? The reviews on NewEgg seem positive, but again, don't really tell me much about whether it's really that great of a deal compared to some other laptops in that price range. Any feedback before I pull the trigger? Thanks.

If you are not into heavy games, then this notebook would do.

cheers ...

Thanks for the reply.

I guess I'm not a 'hardcore' gamer, but I am planning to play newer, graphically intensive games like Crysis 2. Apparently according to NotebookCheck.net the 6650M can play Crysis 1 on high @ ~33FPS, which not only means Crysis 2 should probably fare better, but also means it should be a while till a game comes along that this card can literally not handle. I'd even be okay with everything low @ 25FPS, plus I love playing old games too (pre-2003), so I should be okay with this setup.

The hardware upgrade over my current desktop (AMD Quad-Core, GeForce 9500 GS - this is what I'm using to game on right now!) will be pretty significant, especially in the graphics department.

What I am concerned about however, is the money issue. I'm going to be done my temporary job soon and going back to a year of college, so I won't be seeing money in a while. $600 is the limit I set for a laptop, so I'd much rather go cheaper if I could. It's just that I've never seen this type of setup go for that price before. If this will be the best I can get for $600 then I'm okay with spending that money, but if you know of something better - say... an equally good graphics card and CPU, but comes with a BluRay player, or if there's another with a faster CPU (all else equal) for the same price or cheaper, then I'd much rather do that, obviously.
