Wireless Connection INSANITY!

Thread Starter

I've had this Acer notebook computer for quite some time. It works wonders for simple searching. But on occasion I lose my Wireless Connection. The problem has nothing to do with my wireless router, and it has nothing to do really with the laptop's lack of drivers. The major problem is that the ONLY way seemingly to have it connect to a Wireless Router is just be having the Wireleass LAN Enabled...period. It will then just need to recognize the Wireless signal, pop up telling me it has just found a new connection, and I'll click to connect. The INSANITY is that there is NO way seemingly to manually search for it! If I don't have the small Wireless Icon in my Taskbar Tray AT ALL TIMES I'm totally S.O.L. Please, someone throw me a bone here!

Check the Task Bar properties and see if the network icon is being checked to be part of the Notification Area.

cheers ...
