Hi all,
My old 17" Laptop is getting on in the years.
I need a replacement, something light, portable and with good battery life. Main uses for me will be :
iTunes and iPod
watching DVDs/Netflix,
writing papers for school
making Excel spreedsheets for school
viewing professors' PowerPoint lectures/editing them after class
Using the internet for research (and fun too, hehe)
I used to be a gamer, but with school I don't have time, so gaming won't be taking place on my laptop.
Right now, I've narrowed it down to the
1. HP Dm4-1160us and
2. Apple MacBook Pro 13.3
Stats are pretty comparable. Consumer reports give both laptops an overall rating of 72/100; both are equal in the categories of performance, ergonomics, versatility and portability. The HP is rated higher in ergonomics, but lower in display. The batter on the HP is also rated 6.5, whereas the MBP is rated 8.5
Just curious if anyone has owned either of these, and what your experiences are? The HP is $400 cheaper, so unless it or HP are fatally flawed, then I'll probably go HP>
Thanks in advance for your help!
