New SDD drive revives my older laptop

I just thought I would mention that: "It is so choice. If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up." Ferris Bueller 1986

Anyway, I replaced the 7200 RPM 80gb drive in my work provided Dell e6400 laptop and it's entirely worth it on an older laptop. This thing has a new lease on life just from adding this drive. I purchased an Intel 80GB 320 series SDD for it, it was a plug-and-play update and now this thing is like brand new again. I would have gone bigger but the original was an 80 and I didn't want to raise any flags with our IT folks.

If you're considering it, DO IT!

Weird.... I just got a new laptop at work and I'm considering doing the SAME thing...

I don't think 80GB would be enough tho...

I got the 80 because that's what it had originally. I don't want to show up on any of our numerous "scans" at work as having "non standard" hardware.

Oh yea, they use LanDesk, scans everything. The toughest part of this upgrade in fact was getting the third part hard drive encryption to clone to the SSD.

80GB is plenty. I go through the years with different drive sizes, now ending up with 80GB as the norm for all my comps and using many external drives for back-up.

cheers ...
