Seeking driver to fix sticky scrolling

Hi there,

Was wondering if anyone could help me...

I recently manually restored my Vostro 1700, everything seems to work great apart from scrolling on pages, it seems to be sticky and jutters down the page, rather than scrolling smoothly.

I'm guessing this is something to do with a driver not  installed but when visiting the Dell website the video driver they have recommend for my model is "nVidia GeForce 8400M GS".

I've tried installing this but it tells me that it cannot locate any drivers compatible with my current hardware.

Any ideas? Any help would be great!

Harry

To see if there's a driver problem, go to Device Manager and look for any yellow question marks next to the graphics card.

I'm assuming you're running XP

Hi Steve,

Thanks for notifying me of this, I am using XP.

I found a Yellow question mark next to a video controller, I'm guessing this could be the problem?

However, I try and update the driver and it says the wizard cannot find the necessary software to continue.

Any ideas where I need to go from here?

Thanks

Harry
