Alienware M7700 D9T Technical Help, hard drive

The alienware listed i own is having problems and i cannot find anyone to help me remedy the situation so any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Anyway, i recently installed a new hard drive into the rig along with the original and now the computer cannot recognize either, even my repair boot disk cannot find them.  When i try to do anything the bottom heats up like it wants to catch on fire which i know already that heat is an issue with these computers but not the hard drives.  I'm starting to think that maybe I need a new IDE connector cable or something.

Please help!!!

So what happens when you boot? What is the error message you are seeing?

The message i get at first is no bios installed but i can get into the cmos so idk what that's about, but after that it's a "No OS Installed" error and i cant get past that.  I have tried recovering XP with a refurb disk but it says the hard disk drives cannot be located and it wont let me install it on my usb one nor can i install a fresh copy of vista as it will not see my hdd's either.

I think you mean you can get into the bios? Try looking through the boot order and make sure the hard drive is set as primary.

yes i did mean the bios i got ahead of myself sorry about that, i looked through the boot menu and that isnt an option since the drives cant be seen.
