HP pavilion dv4t 1400 laptop

well I was trying to help my girlfriend out by helping her change out her damaged LCD screen on the above laptop, the new screen was black once the computer started up.

 

I hooked up an external monitor and that works fine

I next tried the old screen which had a crack in it but still would work but with a lot of lines and that is black now as well.

 

So my next guess is the screen inverter or the actual thin cable that connects the screen but wanted to check with you guys before i order any other parts

It's hard to troubleshoot this. But it sounds like you're heading in the right direction. If you do go with the inverter upgrade , post your progress here with pics so we can help.

Inverter would be the next step. Are both screens the same models?
