Yeah, I've got no problems trying to force it, but why force it if it is giving incompatability messages

Beat me on that one. Maybe firmware version difference. As long as (if) it works winknudge.gif

I had the laptop half apart last nite..LCD removed..bezel on top of keyboard removed and the keyboard laying out of the way...taped the antenna end to the LCD lid but cannot find a way to snake the connector ends of the antenna thru the base to the mini pci compartment..looked on line to see if there were pics or something showing how they ran the antenna wire to the wireless slot.. Disassembly instructions are not much help in that regard..As it stands now without the antenna connected it identifies the signal as weak.

Get long antenna cables and try running them along the side of the bottom casing.

" and try running them along the side of the bottom casing"...not sure what you mean here..are you saying plug the two antenna wires onto the mini pci, leave the cover off and run the antenna wires outside the bottom casing??? Thats kinda weird and not very neat....

No no ... Receptor between LCD casing and LCD, channel the cables through the hinge and place them along the side, underneath the board then run them to the wireless card wink.gif

Recepters are between the LCD and the casing..the connector wires about 8 inches (20cms) is curled up and under the piece of bezel between the lcd bezel and keyboard...I have looked for an opening where I might be able to feed the wire to the bottom...as it stands now, I can get the connector ends to the level under the keyboard, but no way to penetrate the motherboard to the underside where the pci mini is located

There is no easy way out here Gene, You need to be able to lift up the board from its bottom casing ... aka, pretty much taking the machine apart.

Well, I dont see that happening anytime soon...maybe if I get real ambitious this winter

I just reviewed the service guide for this model, and it looks like you can get the cables down to the wifi area by going through the holes underneath the keyboard. Do you have this service guide? If not I will put it in the DTF Toshiba area for you.

If its the one of off this site, thats the one I was using...and while I had it apart last nite, I looked for a hole under the keyboard that Icould use that went to the mini pci slot on the bottom and could not see any
