Hi all,

Forum newbie here. I know my way around a PC but my daughter wants to upgrade her RAM on this machine but I can't find the full specs for that EXACT machine. I've posted the results from SiSoftSandra below. Can any of you guys out there tell me what is the max I can upgrade to without blowing the MoBo ? Thanks in advance.

Upgrading the RAM is probably the easiest upgrade for a notebook.

Typically there is just 1 panel on the bottom of hte notebook you need to remove to expose the RAM Dimm slots.

Thanks Steve

but what I'd like to know do you know how much this model will take running on Win 7 Ultimate...is 1 gig as high as I can go ?

Sorry. Was multitasking

I see you're only using DDR2 RAM. Did this notebook ship with XP? (edit it prob shipped with Vista actually)

If you install Win7 on the Gateway M-6828b, 64-bit will support tons of RAM as long as it's frequency is 667 MHz.

There are 2 DDR2 slots, each will support 2GB a slot. SO a max of 4 GB can be used.

Here's the guide
