Hi guys

I'm thinking of changing my old notebook

i Work with programing (java, .net, php, oracle) and also work with Adobe Suite.

My two options are: TOSHIBA with core i7 and MacBookPro with i5 (don't have money for i7 Mac, here in brazil mac's are so overprice)

I will paste above both notebook's specs:

TOSHIBA A665-S5183X I7-2.0

INTEL CORE I7-2630QM 2.0GHZ (TURBO CACHE till 2.9GHZ)
RAM DDR3/1066MHZ 6GB 4GB+2GB , MAX 8GB
HD 500GB SATA 5400RPM
VGA INTEL FAMILY 3000 64MB DED.1632MB C
NVIDIA GEFORCE GT540M 1024MB
DVDRW MULTILEITOR.
15.6" LED, WIDESCREEN 1366X768 with cam
WINDOWS 7 HOME PREMIUM 2009 64BITS

MacBookPro

CPU:INTEL DUAL-CORE I5 2.3MHZ.
-MEMORIA 4GB (2x2) DDR3 1333 MAX.(8GB)
-HD SERIAL ATA DE 320GB 5400
-VGA INTEL HD 3000 384MB DEDICADA.

-TELA 13.3 LED BLACKIT (1280X800) WIDESCRENN.
-CAMERA 1.3 MEGA PIXEL.
-DVD SUPERDRIVE DUAL LEYER.

Toshiba is 450 bucks cheaper than Mac.

Toshiba has better hardware.

But there are some things about the mac that pleased me, those things are:

8 hours battery, small 13.3 screen and the MacOS, i never had a mac before and also never used one. But i heard a lot from some friends of mine about that mac OS is better than Windows.

Thank you.

The battery life is undeniably better on the Mac. I personally would never buy one for I do not want to relearn an entire OS. Plus a lot of the software I use is not compatible with iOS.

TOSHIBA with core i7 is where I'd go if i were you.

Thank you Steve.

I'm seriously considering getting the Toshiba. There thing that bothers me about Toshiba Notebook is the battery time.

According to Toshiba Web site the battery lasts for about 2.5 hours.

If the MacPro had a better VGA, but i have my doubts about Intel HD 3000.

i would buy it for sure even coming with i5 processor.

I would appreciate more comments

Once again thank you Steve for quick Reply

No problem.

YOu should also check out Sagers. They typically have decent battery life and are very standard for business use.
