ASUS G51JX-X3 audio "hiss" when power cord plugged in

i5 core

Windows 7

running:  Traktor Pro 2, S4 Kontroller, to powered Rockit5 studio monitors

120v

Can anyone help with this?  Decided to use my gamer as a dj rig, figuring the power would be there.  But when I run the above setup there is an audible noise in the background, loud enough to be annoying.  It's not there when I am on battery power however, only when the power adapter is plugged in.  I've isolated it to the computer by swapping and using proven good bench power, RF reducing power filters/splitters, etc.  The only thing I haven't done was use another power adapter.

Thanks for your input.

Hmmm. Having the noise with the power adapter plugged in suggests there might be a short with the AC routing. Trying another adapter would be the first step in troubleshooting this.

thanks for the suggestion.  It is a step I intend to do.  It's cheaper than a Macbook if it works...  :)
