Contact XoticPC and see what they can offer you for your $750 budget. My suggestion above is way above your budget. Tell them you want Nvidia GPU with the best 2nd Gen Intel with the best high contrast panel for $750. See what they have for you.
Your best bet I think is this: http://www.xoticpc.com/sager-np3250-clevo-w251hnq-p-3064.html
Everything stock on that is more than enough for your needs. Upgrade the LCD to the best option they have there you can afford. Those LCD panels should provide what you need. The i5 2nd Gen is powerful and the 520M will provide everything you need for Adobe Premiere (CUDA), Photoshop (OpenGL) and other graphics applications. For anything that needs rendering, your i5 will provide the power you need. FYI CPU rendering while slightly slower than GPGPU rendering (CUDA/OpenCL), the level of quality is much superior on CPU rendering. So a beefy i5 2nd Gen is more important than a strong GPU.
Stick to Nvidia if you are doing graphics work. Nvidia OpenGL support and CUDA destroys AMD right now. AMD seems to be only focused on DX Gaming and entertainment movie watching with the terrible DXVA 2.0 API. But that's what the majority of users care only about.Edited by ziddy123 - 5/14/11 at 6:40am
