I know it won't happen but I wish gamers would boycott MW3. Not because it's using the same engine based on ID Tech 3 (Ancient) or that it will just be rehash of COD games.

I think it's a travesty and an insult that Activision retained the name Infinity Ward and claimed they had rebuilt the team. It's disgusting. Grant Collier one of the co-founders left before MW2 was released. That leaves Vince Zampella and Jason West who were fired after Activision tried to screw them of their bonuses and deserved payment. The COD series and the MW series are completely created by these three, West being credited as director and project lead. And there is little doubt in COD fans that MW1 single player campaign is better then MW2 and MW2 better than Black Ops, Black Ops being the worst of the 3. For MP, majority of PC fans still prefer MW1.

Then 38 of the Infinity Ward employees leave, these including the lead designers, lead artists, pretty much the people who are responsible for MW1 and MW2. Reason? Activision held their bonsuses and payments as hostage. Activision blackmailed them essentially to stay to keep working on MW3.

As gamers should we care about the politics and what happens in game studios? Normally I'd say no. Game studios are bought and sold and become defunct left and right. It seems game studios run as lasting businesses seem to be a rarity and almost non existent. Few companies survive to remain independent like CryTek or CD Projekt.

But just this once in this instance, it would be nice if Gamers supported a game studio they loved like Infinity Ward and boycott and protest. It's a disgrace and filth that this company's name is continued to be exploited by Activision for their own greed.

If gamers supported the real Infinity Ward, all it would take is patience. They only have to wait another year or so before Respawn, (the real Infinity Ward) release the next exciting game. Support a horrible company that continues to exploit the name Infinity Ward after raping the former employees with the same old, rehash? Or wait and support and see what the real innovative team can come up with next?

Eh I know I'm in the minority. But doesn't hurt to wish. One can dream that gamers can forego their COD addiction and protest to share their loyalty. But then I suspect majority of COD fans don't have any loyalty as long as the game has COD on the box, they won't care.

ZIDDY i feel the same way!!!

I am so sick of modern shooters and their $60 PC game policy. IT's changing the industry and I hate developers for testing these waters.

Crysis 2 did it.
Bulletstorm did it.
Rage is doing it.

I'm simply NOT buying a $60 PC game. I don't care what game it is.

It's a hit so far with all the newspaper reporting - wondering how true that is

Well of course. It's a sure thing to put out of a game like this.

So has anybody here actually bought this game yet?

Fuck no. COD games suck and are overplayed. I wish all modern shooters would go away forever.

I'm not saying they're bad games, I'm saying I'm tired of the same game every year. In addition, I'm not supporting Acitivsion anymore. I'm voting with my wallet and choosing not to buy their games.

COD Black Op's killed it for me. I will borrow this from my brother to finish the story. BF3 is currently taking most of my time, only because I actually play with some guys as a team.
