Is Toshiba Satellite A660 0T4 Intel Core i7 overkill for a graphic designer

Thread Starter

Hi,

I'm a graphic designer and I'm looking for a new laptop (not a Mac though). I often have several programs open at once including InDesign, Photoshop, Word, Firefox and Illustrator. So I want it to be the computer in general, as well as the graphics display, to be fast.

I found this computer on sale on TigerDirect for $1150 down from $1900. I understand that it's a good laptop with a great graphics card and CPU. I'm just wondering if it's too much for what I need. It's a little pricier compared to what I had in mind, but I can afford it. But if all the extra everything isn't necessary for what I'm doing then I'd get something cheaper.

I'm looking for:

- a good dedicated graphics card

- high CPU - maybe 4 processors

- 4GB or more Memory

thank you!!

Please excuse any techie language I may have misused. So here's the computer I was looking at:
