Im really interested in upgrading the cpu of my machine to reduce waste of resources in the future. Pretty sick of having to buy new laptops just because the cpu becomes old. Right now, i have the hp dv7 1020ea, am i able to upgrade that to quad core in the future perhaps? .... or are there any upgradable laptops out there, like the clevo d900t .....?

Your model has PM45 chipset which should be able to accommodate a quad-core CPU.

Laptops with upgradable CPU are pretty cool but then again sooner or later you will need a new one anyway because you will get bored of the design, etc. For this reason desktops are nice, you can easily customize them.
