HP DV6T-SE failed in restoring, now can't use it, Advices please

Hi all!!

My wife bought a new HP DV6T-SE 5~6 months ago, it's running an i-5, ATI Raedon, windows 7 x64. The laptop was running fine the first weeks (or maybe 1~2 months).

I didn't use the HDMI much, but I'm sure it was working at first, but someday it just didn't work,  changed the HDMI cable, test it with my PS3, but nothing worked, I blame some Windows update; 'cause it was acting weird, I noticed that some times when I close the lid, after a while when opened ask me what user will I use, like after booting, and tells me that windows just recovered from a blue screen!! It doesn't have nothing strange installed, just windows 7, Office Pro 2010 and Vizio, but I reinstalled the Office and Vizio, worked fine the first day, but gave me blue screen again, and again, and again.... So I took my 5 recovery discs, started the recovery tool, but in the last Disc, less than 1 minute to finish, gave me an error, run it like 7 times and gave same error over and over. The discs look great, no scratches, lines or dirt, they're like mirrors!! but can't boot the laptop now, the only way to use it is with a live Ubuntu Disc, she loves Ubuntu, but needs Windows HELP plz!!!

I recommend that you try to get a Windows installation disk and just wipe out the whole drive, re-installing the OS new. You can always pick up drivers and apps from HP support site for your model. This way you can be sure if the hard drive itself or something else is not doing right.

cheers ...
