I need someone to try something for me. m17x r3 and the video outputs

1) I have heard that both the hdmi and displayport outputs can be used simultaneously, please verify.
2) This one is a bit more complicated. The transmitters in the hd6000 and hd5000 series cards are dual-mode dp and hdmi. The intent here is that you can plug an hdmi device into a displayport connector and it will work without active chips, just a pair of connectors and some wires. I want to know if the hdmi output of the m17x r3 can be operated in displayport mode. I'd like use a pair of 30" 2560*1600 lcds with the m17x r3.
I realize that this is not implied to work, however, we know for a fact that the transmitter behind that hdmi port is dual-mode. The question is whether it will be allowed to operate in displayport mode. I'd like someone to try plugging in an hdmi to dp cable (not adapter!) into a non-dualmode monitor with the m17x r3.

If this works, my buying decision is set.

thanks,
cirthix

Not aware that you can do multiple displays (more than 2 - the LCD and one external) on any current notebooks, regardless of manufacturers, without a need of an external adapter

cheers ...

You can run two external plus the laptop screen

I believe the R3 along with the r2 supports it
