Working a little late, so not being as sharp as I might otherwise have been, I decided that now that Mint 11 was final it was time to try it out.
I'd been running Ubuntu for a few years, so was reasonably comfortable with it. Problem was that I had not installed it in a few years and conveniently forgot the details.
So after I installed Mint, I decided to change to my existing profile, but the dialog was not clear enough with new and old, and Mint overwrote my profile with a fresh profile.
I've moved home back into the / partition, so as to preserve what data may still be there.
Now how to get it back?
File system is EXT3.
