Try reseating the memory modules again and make sure that the HDD is firmly seated

Sorry. Already tried that twice. Still will not work. At this point it is a paper weight.

I have tried this as well with no luck. Thanks for the idea though.

Are you using the OEM a/c adapter....just wondering if the machine is getting the proper voltage/amperage...you never mentioned if you were doing something to the laptop before all this started...replacing something, cleaning, had it apart for any reason??? Otherwise, it appears it could be a duff motherboard...What model is it..I believe I seen Aspire but no model number

Yes I am using the OEM adapter. Even with just a fully charged battery and no AC this happens. Model number 7520. This one is known for motherboard troubles.

Too risky to do on my own. I would rather see what the repair shop can do about it. Thanks though.

Risky? It is a paper weight now, is it not? Best time / chance to use this opportunity as a learning experience. By the way search this forum for bake / baking as well - you have nothing to lose winknudge.gif

cheers ...

I'm going to wait and see what the repair shop can do. If they can not fix it then I will "bake" it I guess. Thanks for the help.

Did you try pressing the center of the laptop keyboard as mentioned while booting in the threads...??????

Yes I did. The unit did not turn on. Same result as in the video.
