NP5165 Ethernet port problem

I recently bought a new Sager NP5165 as a work/play computer, and am having a problem with my ethernet cable port.  Whenever I connect an ethernet cable, the network adapter still says `Network Cable unplugged`. If i disable and reenable the ethernet port it will work but every time I connect to a different cable/port it gives the same error. I have tried updating the drivers, and even went so far as to uninstall and reinstall all the drivers to see if this would fix the problem.  I travel constantly and this is becoming a huge hassle.  It also doesn't help that my computer constantly disconnects from my work wireless network.  Anyone have any ideas?

I use different cables at work than I do on the road or at home.  The cable is not the issue.

Take a look at the device properties and see if there is an option to disable the "turning off the device to save power"

That option was there, so I turned that off.  I'll let you know how it turns out.
