Well it's launch day for the 2nd gen Samsung tab....

Picked mine up today, brought it home, turned it on... fun.

Oh wait... there's absolutely NO APPS for it. No Netflix, No WSJ, Barely any books by my favorite authors... so what's the point?

Returning it tomorrow.

I had the 1st gen one for a few hours. I returned it, because

flash would not work properly. Thank for the info on the 2nd

generation one.

So when i said there were no books i was talking about googles store. You can dl the kindle app and buy books still. But i am not sure how good they will look since that app is designed for phones. If i kept this, i would literally only use it for posting on forums. Theres nothing else you can do. Play games i guess?

I got rid of my Ipad because of the no flash thing. It sounds nice.

Thanks, I may look at one.cool2.gif

I am looking at one for work. I want to replace some paper forms that I use all the time. How does it handle .doc/.docx and .pdf's?

Not sure about its performance, but you can always try installing the Office Suite for Android (many are floating out there) and see.

cheers ...

It actually runs/opens/edits that stuff really well. Was pleasantly surprised when I opened a Microsoft Excel document.

Best Buys is offering this Tab for free if you buy a Samsung 3D HDTV laugh4.gif It is not a good sign here, everybody is jumping away from the Android bandwagon ...

I don't think that's the case at all.

Microsoft is giving away a free Xbox 360 if you buy a Windows PC.

Sure it is winknudge.gif I can see giving away a satellite disk or something similar (like MS with XBox and Windows PC), but throwing away a hot and potential iPad-killer for free smells bad to me laugh4.gif

It's just a package deal Q. People spend $2k on a TV and throw in a piece of hardware at cost for probably $250? They're not taking a loss and it's a way to get their name/hardware out there.

Sure, I take your words for it winknudge.gif

So, after a looong time in waiting the newest baddest version of this tablet finally makes landfall.

Well, this is my pure and only personal observation - save your money for something else. Whilst it has newer hardware from inside and the latest Android version, but it feels like a patch work of everything throwing together. Heck, Mum makes better soup by mixing leftover stuffs in the pot.

I believe that Samsung would make this tablet (version) better by using its Galaxy S2 Smartphone as mold and explode the size from it - seriously. I am not being impressed by the S3 and I am not being impressed by this 10.1" tablet version. Oh, I love my S2 winknudge.gif

For alternative I recommend Lenovo.
