Well I did it... after weeks of not sleeping, reading these forums at all hours of the day and night, asking God for divine wisdom, I have finally decided and ordered my system.

Dell 8600 WSXGA
Pent. M - 745 (1.8)
128 9600 Pro
40Gb HD
256 RAM (will upgrade via newegg)
Dell Wireless 1350
4x DVD+RW

CURRENT ESTIMATED SHIP DATE: ready for this..... 06/22/2004

Do they not know I will change my mind by then?

Well, when I checked Small Business (US) about an hour and a half before your post, EST was 06/03 for both I8600 and D800. Seems like a lot of orders are being taken.

Seriously though, I wouldn't worry too much at this stage. There are rumours about possible shortages of 755, but you ordered 745, and such rumours could hardly pertain to Dell, Intel's most valuable customer.

lol, just sent a check off for mine yesterday, (bought used) alot of people buying these, you guys were right, anyway, just wanted to say shipping is never free, that was included in the $2000.00 + price tag

Probably. It is a new chip so delays are likely as the initial manufacturing tries to catch up with orders. This is almost always the case with new release technology such as CPU's.
