So, I have an okay laptop. It's not all that great, but it works. When my laptop was fairly new, it could almost anything I wanted to play. I would play Borderlands, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, Dragon Age: Origins, and other games on the lowest settings without lag or any other performance issues. Then, it gradually began to lose performance. It got so bad that I couldn't run any of the above games without serious issues on the lowest settings. I eventually reset my system to factory default and started using an external hard drive for all my movies and music and whatnot. This increased the performance somewhat to where I could once again run Oblivion. However, I want to know if there are any other measures I can take to restore the performance enough to run games like Borderlands and Dragon Age: Origins at least on the lowest settings. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
