Any other good video editing software alternative?

Hi folks, I'm having trouble importing dvd footage into imovie so that I can edit it. I've tried 3 different dvds now,The only remaining issue is that some of the VOB files seem to be corrupt, as there are some chunks that iMovie won’t import, (then iMovie crashes),btw, I am using Mac OS, so is there any good video editing software for iMovie alternative? Or any solution?

well, i've no idea for othe video editing tool, I am used to iMovie, you should convert the DVD to mp4 then import to imovie for editing. Try handbrake (free) to convert DVD to mp4. The secondary choice is macx dvd ripper pro which I got from lifehacker giveaway.
