Attention all the ASUS U36JC owners: problem with the touchpad

So a few minutes after fiddling around with my new pricey laptop I noticed something, which I would have never expected from a laptop from this price range: there are about 0,4 inches of dead spots at the both sides of the touchpad. Wouldn't be that big of a problem, but it really makes scrolling up and down hit and miss. And of course I feel a little betrayed, when my big touchpad isn't actually bigger than usual.

Is there a defect in my product or do I need some drivers to make it work whole? Or is this just a "feature?"

Contact support. Sounds like a hardware issue to me. It happens, it's the nature of manufacturing.

But just to make sure, install the latest ATK driver and the latest Synaptics drivers.

We should also put it in the wiki

Would this be a good upgrade from a UL30vt-A1?

Got my laptop replaced. The dead spots are now way smaller, but still far from perfect.

So they are still present, but just a smaller area? Man that's weird.
