DoW II

Did not see a thread on this game. DL'd it for the M11x and having a good time playing it. Using Steam I snagged DoW II, Chaos Rising and Retribution for 50 or so. I like the planet hopping but the mission get a bit repetitive (defending the same zones, attacking the same zones, etc) but I do like customizing my squads.

So anyone else playing this game??

Mb or Steve, My M11x seems to lag a bit when playing, turning off the Alienware stuff allowed the cinematic's to play better but gameplay is still laggy when there is alot of combat going on. Any suggestions (besides turning down the settings)

I always have it installed. I play on and off. I don't think ti's that great of a game.

I have it and the 2nd expansion, haven't played either yet. It's on my Steam account. I've been told it's great, but I'm still having fun with Witcher 2 and Borderlands. But I do plan on playing both sometime. Tough Alice Madness just came out, so still on the back burner as I want to check out that game.

The game isn't anything new. Definitely not what I was expecting coming from DoW 1. I do like the concept, running around a sector trying to secure a few planets while customizing your squads with in-mission rewards. I see myself defaulting to heavier squads and leaving my scouts and jump squads out of the action though.

The repetitive missions do get annoying, constantly defending the same zones and having the zones you have secured come under attack again is a pain in the ass. The planet bonus's from securing structures is a great idea, I would just like to see more emphasis on those bonus's and the structures.

All in all it's not bad. Has anyone played co-op? Retribution?
