Here are three tips I use for happay gaming on G73JH.
#1 Disable PCI Express Link State
- Click the battery/power plug icon in the taskbar. Go to power options. Then change power options for High Performance. Click advanced options. You'll see PCI Express, set the Link State Power Management to OFF. Leaving it on can throttle your CPU/GPU.
#2 Disable AMD External Events Viewer
- This seems to be a cause of any number of problems I have with AMD drivers. It's also the cause of the current DCOM error AMD Drivers have since 11.4. I just find disabling it, removes any problems I may have with AMD's buggy drivers.
- Can disable this by going to Start, type services.msc. Find AMD External Event, and disable it.
- Google search can show you, this process is just a mess and something AMD refuses to fix. http://www.google.ca/search?rlz=1C1CHFX_enCA437CA437&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8&q=AMD+External+Events+Viewer
#3 Remove battery
- Asus has always had problems with their ACPI and battery. This is a cause for latency issues, ACPI issues etc. This is something you would notice if you do any audio work or anything sensitive to ACPI and Latency. Plus for some it's just good practice for keeping your battery in good condition and for safety. It's not really the case with smart batteries today, but whatever. I like to game with the battery removed, running only on A/C Power.
List here any other tips you may have for happy gaming :3
