I am currently looking to purchase a gaming laptop since my boyfriend has stolen the gaming rig I built after his laptop died and I am sick of using my cheapo 300$ emergency laptop as I cannot game on it.
I am buying it off newegg so I can use my 300$ giftcard and newegg preferred account on it, so it has to be something I can buy off of there.
Currently I am looking at the:
Qosmio X505 Q888 Recertified (and all the other x505 recertified)
Qosmio x775 Q7270 (wish it wasn't so ugly looking)
Sony Vaio F Series the the GT 425M
Specs wise the X775 is superior in many ways, and only a touch more expensive, I just have a problem with the design of the case, superficial of me I know, but what I'd like to know is the superiority so much better that I should go for the ugly duckling or would the difference not be very noticeable? Or is there a different gaming laptop people would suggest for around 1000$? I really dislike HP (bad experiences with them, my boyfriends aforementioned dead laptops were both HP's that died within a year, one of which actually had flames out of the keyboard and the motherboard had a small black crater in it when we took it apart.) I wouldn't mind learning more about ASUS or MSI since they have some cheaper laptops with decent looking specs.
Games I am playing/plan to play when they release:
Fallout 3/New vegas
Dragon Age Origins/2
Mass Effect 1/2/3
