Asus G74 SX

I just received this laptop today, and it's the first powerful laptop I've ever purchased. I was just wondering if there is anything I should do. Are there any drivers or programs I should install? Or is this machine good to go right away? Thanks in advance,

1. Create some recovery disks if it dd not come with them
2. Update everthing you can find on the net (drivers from ASUS and Windows updates)
3. Use some lighter and free Antivirus software like Microsoft Security Essentials
4. Disable what you don't need from start-up processes and Services
5. Playing with it for a few weeks

I'm curious which version of the laptop you got? G74SX-???.

I have the Best Buy version, which has the same CPU and GPU, but is comes with less ram and the GPU is supposed to be more limited. What I'd like to do is compare game benchmarks with someone who has the higher-end version. What do you think? I'm not saying we'll get perfect results, but just that it would be interesting to see just how much is lost in real-game performance for having a gimped GPU.

I've got a G74SX-XN1, which I guess is a Newegg version. It's got the same spec as the G74SX-A1 minus the Blur-ray drive and only comes with a single 500gb HDD.

What game benchmarks are you looking for?
