HP Pavillion - AC adapter compatability

Hi Gang, First post

 

 

I just upgraded from a DV series to a DM4 series HP Pavillion. To my horrow, I noticed the AC adapter connector on the new DM series is very different from the old DV even though the charging specs on the old and new AC adapters are identical.

 

I have three of the old adapters and sure dont want to toss them just because the connector tips are different.

 

Can the old adapters be "adapted" to work with the new DM series Pavillion and if so how?

You can with some cutting and resoldering, I personally don't recommend it - sell the old ones for some $
