Hello!
My Inspiron 9200 Power block from ebay exploded after i left it stuck on the "windows is shutting down" screen for a week...
I ran some 3d and the PC switched off and there were sparks inside the power supply so i quickly unlungged it, i checked the fuse in the house that had gone and opened up the inside of the power supply to see what what happening, the solder on the AC input jack was melted, so i soldered it back and tried the power supply again and it made a bang so i unlpugged it.
STUPID MOVE!!!!!: I saw that the power block was 19.5 volts so i plugged in a 20v psu onto the PC, but unfortunately i reversed the + and the - first time i ran it!
Second time i plugged it in the right way round... no life.
I found the battery still works. but i think that the power jeck input has transistors blown on it. no lights came on at all to tell me that i had used the wrong power supply.
Do you think i can hack into the battery somehow to provide a power input through the battery pins?
Sorry i know it was silly of me! just that i had a crazy day and i was in a hurry and i needed that PC !!!
