xbox 360 and pc

hey guys
I want to play fear 2 on my laptop with my xbox 360 controller. I downloaded the game using steam. The controller works fine with portal and left for dead 2 (both of which are valve games). Does the 360 controller only work with valve games or is there something I'm missing?

No the controller should work with any game that's compatible with a controller.

F.E.A.R. 2 does not support controller use.
