MiniPCIe card issues

Thread Starter

I have a Toshiba Satellite P105-S9312 running Windows 7 Ultimate x64. I upgraded the RAM to 4GB, and the processor to a Core2 T7600. My next step was to update the wifi card. I purchased a bigfoot networks killer wireless-n 1102 from ebay. I didn't realize that it was a half size mini PCIe card, and I have a full size card slot. So I bought a Startech Half Size to Full Size Mini PCI Express Adapter. I installed everything the way it should go, and when I go to boot the computer it turns on, but the display doesn't show anything. The leds light up and I can hear the fan running, but thats all I get. I removed the card, and everything boots up without a problem. What could be the problem? I paid about $50 for the card, and another $20 for the adapter so I don't really want to scrap the project and go back to my USB Wireless N adapter. Any ideas?

Thanks!

You just need to get rid of the adapter and get the correct size card. Sell them off back. The adapter might not be compatible with the inner circuitry of the Toshiba, don't chance it

cheers ...
