Hi, I need help with replacing the fan in my IBM ThinkPad R40. It's been my trusty laptop for the longest time, even since the purchase of my iPad. I would like it to stay alive, so when I started getting the "Fan error" and two beeps on boot, I decided it's time to buy a new fan.

I found an fan/heatsink assembly on eBay, and it's in decent condition. Little dusty, and shows obvious sounds of wear but it should do fine to keep it alive for a little longer. Here are some pics.

I'm having trouble getting the assembly already screwed to the mainboard out because I don't have the correct screwdriver. I've tried these two:

The yellow-handled one is too big, and the black/red handled one is too small. All I want to know is what screwdriver I need to buy to take the fan out. Here is a pic of the heatsink part of the fan assembly.

Also, while I'm here, do I need thermal paste? I'm pretty sure I will, but I'm new to this whole replacing-heatsink thing.
