Macbook gone?

My wife's XPS 1330 is dead, it's been repaired and is dead again. I was going to buy her a MAC 13" the other night and got busy, then forgot to hit "purchase." Now I return today and no more Macbook in the store, only the "pro" and the "air." Is this something temporary? The wife was not crazy about the PRO we saw at the store and wanted the regular more. Is this temporary? A google search turned up some blogs on this but nothing official.

Not sure about the simple 13" macbook. Apple moves everything to the Pro series almost a year ago. May be it was just an error on their store site

cheers ...

This really did happen a few days ago, but I can only find other forum links to confirm it: sad.gif

Interesting about the "official" remark though. I know that Apple does sell refurbished and left-over stock systems now and then and consumers can be lucky to get a hand on a previous model. Guess they are running out of stock. I think I will hang on to my macbook for keepsake laugh4.gif

you may still purchase the macbook at educational institutions (AKA Colleges and Universities) for the reduced price of $899 so get it while they are still around!

You're better off with a PC anyway TP.

The MacBook is dead for the foreseeable future.

WHy didn't she like the pro? It's much more svelte, imo, and for 200 more it has much better specs.

I think it was just preference at the time. They showed us a Pro 15 and the Macbook 13" and she wanted a 13" screen. I'm sure if they had showed us a pro 13 it would have been fine. But all this is academic now... Her XPS 1330 is part of a class action suit on the video card and Dell is fixing it for us. They extended all of the 1330's for 12 more months as part of the suit. It's at their depot now getting a new board.

That was a really shitty thing of them to show you the MacBook and only the 15 inch pro. I would write a letter to the store just to let them know.

Not really, I don't really care. The Dell will get fixed and we will use it for another two years.
