hp/ compaq evo n610c not connecting

hi, could anyone help with a compaq evo n610c that is not connecting to the internet with the built in wireless card.
I was having trouble with blue screens and could not get rid so i changed every componant including the mobo but still blue screened. So i looked on the internet and found that the wireless card driver from hp is the fault. a different driver was recommended and was downloaded . this stopped the blue screens but now will not connect to internet.
If i connect to an unsecured network it connects ok so the card and driver are working but if i try to connect to my secured network i get the message waiting for network then network not connected.
can someone tell me what settings to change to sort this as its driving me nuts. I am using windows xp pro
......thanks...........paul.

Have you tried resetting your router? It doesn't sound like a problem with your wireless card anymore so it's possible your router just needs to be reset.

hi, i have tried uninstalling the driver and letting windows reinstall but that reinstalls the driver from hp.
when the default driver from hp i installed it causes the laptop to blue screen and hp know about this but dont care . so i found another driver for the wireless card from hp which does not cause the blue screen, everything working ok no blue screens. then it wont connect to the internet as described above.
After searching on the internet i find that this driver does not work with wpa only wap so there is another driver to download which enables xp and xp pro to connect to wpa but this causes blue screens.ahhhhhhhhhh.azz.gif
Now i have started from a fresh install of xp pro and installed the good drivers and now do not have the " connect to "
when i click on start. in device manager the wireless card is not listed even when i click on show hidden devices. if i reinstall the wireless driver it tells me the driver is already installed but it is not showing up in device manager.
Thanks for your help so far.........paul.

I am inclined to think that the card itself is failing, Get another card or just use an external
