I thought the CPU was broken so i ordered a new one and put that in. Whereas with the old CPU i had some semblance of boot with the new CPU when i start it all that happenes is that the volume up/down buttons light up and the mute button blink. Thats it. Nothing more. How do i fix this? Thanks.
Dell studio 1536 is broken. How do i fix it?
I put the CPU in again and that fixed it. Now what happens is that the CD drive spins up and it goes through part of the booting procedure as i can tell by the sounds but nothing shows on the screen and the external monitor shows nothing too. I have tried running it with one stick of RAM< and swapping the RAM sticks between the slots but it is the same thing. No hard drive is the same thing. I tried to swap out the CPU with a identical model. Still nothing. Can someone give me some hints? It is a studio 1536 BTW.
I have had overheating problems and GPU problems. Maybe i should try baking it? Or should i try putting in a new GPU? Would it be better to attempt to replace it myself or sned it in? WHat would be a good place to send it to if so? Also i dont re4ally want to spend more than $100 on this.
