dell xps 15 or lenovo thinkpad

hey guys im so confused i udnno wat to buy please help

im a student (going to uni for engineering) so i need this for word processing and general websurfing plus running programs like autocad. i dont paly games and dont plan on watchin many movies on my laptop. mobility and battery life are also very important.

I'd go with the stronger CPU and larger screen for an Eng notebook. (Lenovo ThinkPad W520)

yeah but the core i7 in the lenovo is a dual core and the core i7 in the xps is a quad core. which one is better, the faster dual core or slower quad core?

I would go for Dell XPS, trusted brand and model.

I would go with the XPS 15, because of the Quad core processor and the 1080p Screen.

Better yet bump up the graphics card on XPS 15 to the 2B GT 540M for $100 more and you will have a comparable graphics card to the Lenovo
