Which netbook to buy? Budget around 200-500€.

Good evening awesome NBF community smile.gif

My budget is around 200-500€, so I would like to get the most solid machine for the amount of money paid.

What I am using the netbook for:
Powerpoint, answering emails, writing emails, making notes, office-stuff. Watching a few movies here and there as well. Ability to play older games (e. heroes of might and magic 3 :P) would be awesome.

Weight:
I have to be on the move alot. Having a roughly 2,3kg Dell d620 proved to be a bit much for me. Therefore this time I will buy a netbook, that should weigh around 1,5kg or less.

My coworkers have formed 2 opposing sides, one of which suggests me to get a product from Asus eee pc 1215B, the other faction suggests that I should get a LENOVO IdeaPad S205.

All constructive feedback is greatly appreciated as I need to buy the netbook within next 2 weeks. blushing.gif

I am happy with my Toshiba NB200. Asus is quite good with its netbook lines though.

Sadly the toshiba model you mentioned is not sold here in Estonia.

For whatever reason, most retailers here sell Lenovo, Asus, HP, Fs, Sony laptops.

But that set aside... im still open for any suggestions.

The Sony netbooks are pretty pricey, but I would look into the new Lenovo X220

I'd look for an ACER mainly because they've got the best reliability record. Second choice would be a Toshiba as they too have a good reliability record. If possible I'd also be looking for it to be running Windows XP 32-bit & certainly not Windows 7 64-bit. A 64-bit OS can cause problems when it comes to drivers in particular & 7 itself is just a system hogger. I'm assuming you're wanting a machine that'll do a job rather than a toy to show off with.

Perhaps you could point me in the direction of certain product models? From there on I could do a little bit of research on my own, in case you cannot bring out any good/bad sides of that model.

Check out Toshiba NB250: This Intel Atom N455 powered Netbook offers a better battery life of 8.5 hours! It’s got 250GB hard disk and DDR3 1GB memory which is expandable up to 2 GB.
