Nope, not at all. Nearly all HDMI ports are digital only. You need a Digital-analog Converter box. Also, this is the wrong forum to post this.

That cable may or my not work depending on how the port is setup on the laptop HDCP being my main concern. But Yes you can do HDMI to a 5 wire breakout. I wouldn't jumping from digital to analog is never a good idea. You would be better off going HDMI to HDMI or even HDMI to DVI.

I'm going with fab. That cable will NOT work.

Moving this thread btw.

I'm sorry for you the wrong section, my English is bad as could already be noted.

Unfortunately I do not have tv with HDMI so I'm looking for solutions to have a media center laptop.

HDMI switch is a soultion. But they're expensive. Not practicle. You might as well pay the $$ for a new TV.

It has 5 wire but no HDMI. Does the tv have DVI or VGA?

What is that an HP product? How much does that cost?

Yes, it is a genuine HP product to be used in "useless" expansion port.
I want to spend that $ 50 each item.

And how did it work out?

I doubt it very much, the fine print here

"- This cable only work for the device which output properties can be change to VGA or component Video + Audio through HDMI output port (for example: some media player, DVR)
- Please don't expect this cable to work in most situations, you'd better check it out first"

cheers ...

Hello everybody!
Thank you for all the help but the BSOD is introducing notebook in which I believe is the video card, it overheated.
I think I'll sell the pieces.

In a last attempt I decided to check the thermal paste and I was lucky, the original folder was dry, now is working perfectly.
I bought on Ebay the QuickDock, I'm waiting to arrive!
