E 525 built-in webcam does not work

Hi everybody. I have a E525 emachines laptop. I have been trying hard to activate my built-in camera. I have sent email to the company, they kindly forwarded me to the Swedish office, because I happened to buy it during my postgraduate studies there.
Anyway, I have downloaded both drivers available for the camera from their website. These are called Chicony Camera Driver and Suyin Cmaera Driver, both 0.3 M.
They did not help.
I am using Windows vista, 32bit, home basic.

My skype does not find any camera.

In fact, when I refer to the Quick guide of my PC, it does say that the system have a built-in camera, but it also says it may vary on different models. The thing is that I see that there is a small round thing on the top, middle of my screen that should be the camera.

Now, you are my only chances. Please let me know what to do.

best

Go into device manager and make sure there is a camera installed. THere might be a circle in the middle of the LCD screen, but that might just be there because they use the same chassis for a dozen different laptop models.

Device Manager will confirm there is indeed a camera installed.

Hi Steve and thanks for the answer.

I forgot to say that I have done this already. Under imaging devices on my devise managers there is no camera installed.

Does it mean that my laptop does not have a built-in camera and that i should by one.

Thanks

Either that, or there is a broken connection somewhere.

You would at least see a YELLOW QUESTION MARK to let you know there is a camera connected, but no drivers are installed.
