M17x "Overclocking failed"?

I have never even tried to overclock this machine before, but it is starting to give me a message in the BIOS saying "Overclocking failed".

I usually then have to discharge the power, then it will get to Windows and the CPU speed will only be at 1.7GHz.

I reflashed the Bios and it appears to be working fine, however in CPU-Z my max RAM's bandwidth is 533MHz when I believe it was 1066MHz before.

Can you set the RAM freq back to the 1066?

Haven't tried, honestly I've never went to the overclocking tab in the BIOS. The wierd thing is all my games are running fine, it the freq were wrong I would notice a difference right?

Okay apparently DDR stands for double data rate and it is supposed to be 533MHz, then it is multiplied by two.

Ah so youre RAM is fine.
