acer 9303 mother board

Hi There,

 

I have just fitted a second hand mother board to my Acer 9303 as the graphics card was faulty in my other one. The problem is that all i get is a blank screen and the laptop will not boot. The laptop was running Vista and the second hand board was in a laptop running Windows 7.  The HD is running and all lights on.

Can anyone help?

Would you see anything if you plugged in an external monitor?

Hi,

 

Tried external monitor and its black aswell. Its like the laptop powers up but won't boot.

If the 2nd board did run before you got it, then I go for the CPU next

Hi i have another cpu on the 2nd board i bought. Just put the old board back in and am getting the 3 bleeps! Put the second board in and no bleeps but does not boot!!

So the old board + the 2nd CPU = 3 bleeps, and the 2nd board + the 2nd CPU = no boot?

The second board came with a different cpu already fitted. The first board with 1st cpu bleeps. The second board with 2nd cpu does not boot! The DVD drive works. Is there a boot disk i could try and download?

 

P.S The guy i bought the second board from swears it worked fine before he sent it to me!

The bleeps that you experience now could be from the keyboard not being fitted correctly - you can try leaving the keyboard out and use an USB external keyboard.

GParted Live CD - you can download, burn to a disk and see if you can boot up with it

Leave the battery off and use the AC only... Use one stick of RAM and also leave the hard drive out...
