What CPU can I upgrade to?

My laptop is HP Pavilion tx2500

with AMD Turion X2 Dual-Core Mobile RM-70 2.00GHz

using 64-bit vista ultimate

 

What are some CPU options that I can upgrade to? Can I do it myself?

Sure you can do it yourself and stay within the RM series (up to RM-77 if you can). Though we are talking about a gain of .3GHz here at max, is it worth it?

By the way, what is RM ans what is the difference between RM-70 and RM-77?

RM - just part of a code, it is listed under Turion X2 / Turion X2 Ultra "Lion". The difference between RM-70 and RM-77 lies in 2.0GHz/10x Multiplier/1800MHz Hyper Transport vs 2.3GHz/11.5x Multiplier/2000MHz Hyper Transport
