i noticed on staples, that they have this great wd 3tb hard drive on sale: http://www.staples.com/Western-Digital-My-Book-Essential-3TB-External-Hard-Drive-USB-3.0/product_912287_HC2

what do you think? is it worth it?

Any drive that avertises being "Green" in this case using "GreenPower Technology", will spin below 6000 rpms.

Good specs and nothing is wrong with Hitachi drive. You might have to add the cost of an external housing though

how do they compare against iomega? i just got my 1 tb iomega drive, so maybe the 2 tb would be better?

I personally don't go with brand names unless certain models are known for having issues. Cost/Size ratio is the main driver for my hard drive needs.
