So I recently bought a Dell XPS 15 with the 1080p screen option, I travel around quite a lot and often take my PS3 or Xbox 360 with me but this also means I have to bring a monitor. The quality of my new screen is very good and would be more than adequate for light gaming use and seeing as I take my laptop with me anyway this seems like a perfect solution.
The laptop does have a HDMI port but I'm 99% sure that it's output only and so can't be used.
My question is this can you get a HDMI to USB cable to display the game signal on the laptop display. I know full HD video input via usb is possible because you can get external blu ray drives, is this not pretty much the same thing? My laptop has USB 3.0 if this makes any difference.
