If they send insured, it should be by you within 2-3 days max

no, I mean if it is customary sending express stuff or the cheapest one.

I am not sure to tell you the truth. But most my stuffs ordering online within Germany would arrive within 2 days. And as long as it is insured, that's all I care winknudge.gif

no excuse, they just could not ship it and they said yesterday they would. It is a breach of contract and I know how to use this to my advantage, and I warned them of this possibility. That or they turn to the fastest shipping DHL has available. I sent them the page link just in case.

and they have this extremely annoying habit of not answering to emails. they are really making me angry. I told them in any way possible that I need the laptop before the 17,

DHL has next day delivery before 9:00am - they should give you that

their original idea was the cheapest fare. not before monday 22.
I guess they are pained like everyone else when the time comes to use their own money. In any case, I "strongly suggested" that option to them.

Normal DHL Paket should not be more than 4 working days from my experience, can't go cheaper than that option unless they send it uninsured - in which case it will be simply stupid

and they talk about German efficiency. ah well. When I review them the "customer service" and "delivery" parameters will be abysmal.
And I hope they send me the componentes I paid for. if not, I'll be VERY angry.

wink.gif Keep cool matey - send them a mail about NBF review section, this might put some fire in their derriere. And I do believe in German efficiency, as long as they have good management team winknudge.gif

laptop arrived, but to get it I had to change the address.
they forgot to install the OS and drivers, so I had to do it myself and I surely messed up (I have set up the most useless dual boot ever - 2 se7en)... any idea on how I can set the laptop back to factory settings and do this again?

it is normal that RAID 5 config eats up more than half of the HD space?

Does it not have a recovery partition? Recovery disks?

it has disks, for OS and drivers. but no recovery partition.
I would just load them all up, OS first then drivers and see - before performing any tweakings

so, now that I have a stable connection, I could make a review of nbotebook and producer, I guess. is there a template?

just a question (I ave been busy): to work a SLI config must have the same GPU model? I can't make one with the GPU of now and, say, a newer one?
"In an SLI configuration, cards can be of mixed manufacturers, card model names, BIOS revisions or clock speeds. However, they must be of the same GPU series (e.g. 8600, 8800) and GPU model name (e.g. GT, GTS, GTX). There are rare exceptions for "mixed SLI" configurations on some cards that only have a matching core codename (e.g. G70, G73, G80, etc.), but this is otherwise not possible, and only happens when two matched cards differ only very slightly, an example being a differing amount of video memory, stream processors, or clockspeed. In this case, the slower/lesser card becomes dominant, and the other card matches. Another exception is the GTS 250, which can SLI with the 9800 GTX+, as the GTS 250 GPU is a rebadged 9800 GTX+ GPU.

In cases where two cards are not identical, the fastest card – or the card with more memory - will run at the speed of the slower card or disable its additional memory. (Note that while the FAQ still claims different memory size support, the support has been removed since revision 100.xx of NVIDIA's Forceware driver suite.)

SLI doesn't always give a performance benefit – in some extreme cases, it can lower the frame rate due to the particulars of an application's coding. This is also true for ATI's CrossFire, as the problem is inherent in multi-GPU systems. This is often witnessed when running an application at low resolutions.

so either same or lower. or one has to change both.
